Javier Rojas, MD

Dr. Javier Rojas is originally from Chile, graduated from medical school in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He continued his education at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital for his anesthesiology residency. Completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesia at Harvard University/Massachusetts General Hospital. Started the cardiac anesthesia program at AdventHealth Zephyrhills. Since 2008, he has been leading the department of anesthesia. He has served in different leadership roles as chief of staff and chief medical officer. He has an interest in cardiac anesthesia/TEE, and regional techniques. He enjoys mentoring young students in the medical field.

Ehijele Omoike, MD

Dr. Ehijele Omoike is originally from Nigeria but moved to the suburbs of Chicago as a kid. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in microbiology then Doctor of Medicine from University of Illinois. Next, he completed his residency at the University of Florida, Shands Hospital. He joined the anesthesia group here in 2005 straight from residency and has not left. He previously held chair of the Pharmacy and therapeutic committee. Dr. Omoike enjoys spending time with his family and working out.

Aaron Hanson MD

Dr. Aaron Hanson is originally from North Dakota. He obtained his degree in chemistry at the University of North Dakota. He then attended Oakland University William Beaumont school of medicine for medical school. Next, he completed his residency at the University of Florida, Shands Hospital. He practices multispecialty anesthesia with a special interest for pediatric, obstetric, and vascular anesthesia. He was elected chief of surgery at Advent Health Zephyrhills and aims to optimize the anesthesia and surgical workflows.

Mircea Cercega MD

Dr. Mircea Cercega is originally from Romania where he started his medical school adventure. He then graduated from anesthesia residency at SUNY Downstate Health Science University in Brooklyn NY.

Matthew Hernandez DO

Dr. Matthew Hernandez is originally from Tampa, Florida. He obtained his degree in Molecular and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida. He attended Lake Erie College of Medicine-Bradenton Campus for medical school. He completed his residency at the University of Kentucky and went on for a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at University of Florida/Shands Hospital. He currently practices multi-specialty anesthesia with a special interest for acute resuscitation and vascular anesthesia.
